2017, GRADUATION PROJECT
Natural materials and authentic craftmanshop
appear to be at odds with modern materials, techniques and functionality.
But this need not be the case.
With ‘Urban Wicker‘, these seemingly opposing worlds coming together.
The two bags, a white shopper and a black backpack, are handmade, using natural wicker for strength and industrial polyester for flexibility.
Combined, the contrasting materials complement each other as she weaves them into an integrated aesthetic.
The bags can be enlarged when needed and are made up of modular sections to change the colour or pattern easily.
The combination between the flexibility of the polyster and the strength of the natural wicker, gives the backpack the function of enlarging and protecting.
By using the zipper on the sides of the white shopper, you can enlarge it.
